Healthy chicken drumsticks with light, homemade barbecue sauce. This recipe requires an oven with broiling capabilities. The recipe features delicious herbal flavors that are a break in tradition.

- Two pounds chicken drumsticks
- 1/4 cup paprika
- 4 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon salt
- Three-quarters cups water or broth
- 1 1/2 teaspoons EACH cayenne pepper, celery sat, garlic powder, dry mustard and cumin
Step 1 - Add water or broth to your Instant Pot. Do not turn the pot on yet.
Step 2 - Place your trivet inside the instant pot and place your chicken drumsticks on the trivet. Close the lid on your instant pot and make sure that it is secured tightly. Close its vent. Set the Instant Pot to “poultry” and set timer for 20 minutes.
Step 3 - Preheat your oven to “broil.” Prepare a cookie sheet with some parchment paper.
Step 4 - In a bowl, mix the spices together. You can also make this mix in large batches to store ahead of time for future meals.
Step 5 – After cooking time completes, allow the pressure to reduce naturally. Open the lid to your instant pot and remove the drumsticks.
Step 6 – Coat the drumsticks with the seasoning mix evenly. Place on the cookie sheet.
Step 7 - Broil drumsticks on high for two minutes, turn the drumsticks, and broil the other side for another two minutes.
Step 8 - Serve and enjoy!
